How You Can Help

The Michigan Pension Rights Project relies on the generous support of caring citizens like you. There are many ways that you can help us as we help Michigan seniors. Even if you can't volunteer your time, there are still many ways that you can help.

Volunteer

Retirees, undergraduate students, and others volunteer assist the Michigan Pension Rights Project with answering the phones, preparing mailings, drafting non-legal documents, participating in our client survey process, and other special projects. Law Students and Paralegals assist our attorneys by doing research, writing publications, and helping clients with additional services. About 15% of all of our cases receive some additional assistance from a legal volunteer or one of our attorneys. We work closely with Thomas M. Cooley Law School and Michigan State University's College of Law to recruit law students to assist us in our work. If you are interested in volunteering as a volunteer, please contact us or send an email to volunteer@elderslaw.org.

Actuary

Actuaries throughout the state are needed to consult with on more complex retirement plans. If you are interested in volunteering for consultation in your area, please contact us or send an email to pensionrights@elderslaw.org.

Attorney-Statewide

Attorneys throughout the state assist the Michigan Pension Rights Project by agreeing to help a senior in their area who needs additional legal services. This may include assisting with a legal document or helping to resolve a legal matter. If you are interested in accepting full fee/contingency or pro bono cases for your area, please contact us or send an email to pensionrights@elderslaw.org.

If You Can't Volunteer Your Time

Even if you aren't able to volunteer your time,
you can still help.
