The MPRP is a part of the Legal Hotline for Michigan Seniors, which is a private, non-profit organization based in Lansing, that assists Michigan seniors statewide. We rely heavily on grants, donations and volunteers to provide services to Michigan seniors and retirees. The MPRP is involved with the investigation and resolution of pension issues, due to time and financial constraints the MPRP cannot represent clients in litigation or draft legal documents for clients. Cases are generally resolved within 2–12 months after the MPRP receives all documents needed to begin an investigation.

Financial Support for the Michigan Pension Rights Project is provided by: The US Administration on Aging, Michigan Office of Services to the Aging, the Michigan State Bar Foundation, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan, Comerica, Consumers Energy Foundation, the and donations from private foundations and individuals.
