Crime Victim Compensation

If you have been the victim of a felony or serious midemeanor crime, you may qualify for financial compensation under the Crime Victims Rights Act. You will need to contact the Crime Victim Services Commission at the Department of Community Health. Some requirements must be met to qualify for such compensation including the completion of an application process.

The Michigan Deparment of Community Health website has more program information, including information on maximum reimbursement amounts, expenses that qualify under the Act, and a downloadable application. You can also reach the Crime Victim Services Commission by calling (517) 373-7373.
